SAMBAS – The Governor of West Kalimantan, Sutarmidji, instructed all to tighten the border area to prevent the entry of new variants of SARS-Cov-2 from neighboring countries. The Governor reminded that the traffic of people to Sarawak allowed the spread of a new variant of Covid-19 in West Kalimantan.
This was stated by the Governor while attending a hospitality night with Sambas Regency Government, at the Sambas Regent’s Office Hall, Sunday (26/12/2021). In his remarks, the Regent of Sambas, Satono, appreciated to the Governor for a working visit to Sambas.
As is known, Sambas Regency is one of the areas directly adjacent to Sarawak, Malaysia. Therefore, the Governor asked the Regent of Sambas not to be negligent and always be vigilant to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant from there.
